Following the engagement of the OurMumuDonDo Movement with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, to demand an extension of the Permanent Voter’s Card registration from the then deadline August 17, the commission has eventually decided to extend the registration from August 17 to August 31, 2018.

We are glad that the commission listened to the voices of concerned citizens and made the decision to extend the deadline in the interest of our democracy. However, we would like to urge INEC, that since the deadline has now been extended but only by two weeks, the number of CVR centers and INEC officials across the country should be increased to bolster the process of registration and also reduce the acute stress that citizens have to endure to get registered.
Further to this, we would like to urge all Nigerians who are yet to register for a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) to do so within this two weeks extension period. The OurMumuDonDo Movement is committed to seeing an astronomical increase in the number of citizens participating in the democratic process and we believe that acquiring a voter’s card is the first step to ensuring that this happens.
On a final note, we would like to thank all those who participated in the campaign including the exceptional group of Presidential Aspirants Coming Together (PACT) and our indefatigable media partners. We believe that together, we will strengthen the bastion of our democracy.
Adebayo Raphael
National Secretary OurMumuDonDo Movement.
